Weekly Swing Dance Club and Band Practice
At the heart of our weekly activities is the Swing Dance Club held at Higher Grounds Coffee Shop every Wednesday. These sessions are a blend of music and movement where participants of all skill levels can engage in swing dance and enjoy band practice. It’s a place where the community comes together to celebrate and learn in a vibrant, rhythmic environment.
Mobile Instruction and Workshops
We understand the need for flexible educational formats, hence we offer mobile instruction and workshops that come directly to you. Tailored specifically for homeschool communities or any groups interested in enriching their learning experiences, our mobile setup includes advanced video and audio technology, facilitating guest speakers, and seminars that cater to a variety of educational needs.
Interactive Socratic Dialogues and Formal Debates
Our program extends into the realms of philosophy and critical thinking through interactive Socratic dialogues and formal debates. Covering topics such as philosophy, reasoning, debate techniques, and apologetics, these sessions are designed to stimulate thoughtful discussion and develop critical analytical skills among participants.
Philosophy and Reasoning Clubs
A key feature of our offerings includes our philosophy and reasoning clubs, which revolve around stimulating materials like "The Consequence of Ideas" by R.C. Sproul. These clubs encourage teens to delve into philosophical discussions, fostering a deeper understanding of various viewpoints and enhancing their reasoning capabilities.
Music and Dance Enrichment
The swing music genre is central to our music and dance enrichment programs. Participants learn to play various instruments and engage in jam sessions that prepare them for performances at community events. These activities not only foster musical skills but also promote social interaction and teamwork among youth.
Inclusive Community Engagement
Our activities are designed to cater to a broad age range, primarily targeting high school and college-aged students (15-24 years old) and their families. We welcome siblings of all ages and parents with young children, ensuring that our events are family-friendly and inclusive.
Event Participation Fees
A nominal fee of $5 per session is charged for the dance club, with a family cap of $15 to make it affordable for larger families. Scholarships are available to ensure that no one is excluded due to financial constraints.
